The most common way for data modeling is using Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams. Use the internet to find ER diagram tools, ERD tools or ER diagram drawing tools. Find at least one ERD tool, explore the tool website, tutorial and product reviews, and try to download a trial version or a demo (video) of the tool.
Prepare short presentation:
1-First slide: Add your name, section, and the date.
2-Introduce the tool, the vendor, and list the capabilities.
3-If you find more than one tool compare between them and state which one is the best for you, and why?
4-Prepare a short example and try to show your classmates how easy the tool is. You can create part of the ER diagram with your classmates in class or you can create your ER example at home and present it in class.
5-Final slide: add a link for all your references, sources and tool websites.
You will have 5 minutes to present your assignment in English. Prepare yourself and manage your time. This is your first and only individual assignment in this course, so be creative and impress me and your friends!!
If you choose your tool, send me an email of the tool and a link to the website. If you choose a tool that some one else have chosen before you, you have to find another tool instead!

ReplyDeleteThe link you post has many ER diagram tools. But the one you choose "Dia" is not ER tool. It is a drawing tool but not an ER drawing tool.

DTM Data Modeler 1.05.01 tool is a nice tool. But the second one "RFFlow Flowchart Software 5.05" is a data flow tool not ER tool. Search for another choice.
